‘There was a lot of pressure put on me as this is the first time Fuji TV has done something like air an anime and TV drama adapted from the same work at the same time. I’m very jealous that the anime could so clearly show certain things that were very difficult to film in live-action, and I think the anime is very exciting and extremely well-made.’ Do you have a message you would like to give the fans?
‘The difference in expression was very interesting. I was lucky to get such amazing performances from Sakurada and Yoshimoto.’ Could you tell us what you thoughts on the anime? In particular, I wanted the two main stars to seem like they had been plucked straight from the manga. The show required performances filled with eroticism, so we searched high and low for performers that could combine purity and eroticism into the performance. The most difficult point was the casting. ‘I decided that I wanted to produce a live action adaptation that respects the original work, while airing at the same time as the anime. Could you tell us what you wanted to put into the live-action version of Kuzu no Honkai? Kuzu no Honkai is currently airing every Wednesday and Kimi wa Pet is currently airing every Monday on Fuji TV-related Channels and Fuji on Demand.
